A sheep farmer friend mentioned he had a cooking set (hob, oven and range hood) in one of his many sheds thathad been there since the eighties and never out of it's box due to being purchased for his mother who passed away before it was installed and wondered if we could do anything with it...
When it arrived I was delighted to find in was a DOUBLE OVEN and the large one is FANFORCED (oh bliss) and the hob is smooth ceramic top...absolutely top of the line (if rather brown) and I would never have bought one so fully optioned new for this tumble down cottage we live in.
We did hit a stumbling block... first of all we had no where to mount the hob- bench space is at a premium and the oven was a wall oven (our walls are 120 year old brick- not cavity) but my ever resourceful and recycling minded demi god of a husband has solved the problems- the hob has been mounted in a modified Tasmanian made teachers desk from the Mission Shop and the oven in the old fire place...
I have been baking (really very well if I do say myself) all day and just had to share!
hmmm I wonder if I posted this in the right spot- after all, I didn't make it and it is sort of recycling...
Ah well!
