terracotta pot candle heater?
last year there was a post on here containing a link to a tutorial on how to make one of these dandy little things. My uncle has an allotment and spends loads of time down there so I was thinking of making one for his Yule gift, but I can't find the link (brain's not working today)
can anyone help please?

I tried it with a night-light candle and it needed more heat. I think it needs a jar candle.

This looks good, does it generate much heat?

I was just going to ask the same question. Tea lights get pretty hot, so if most of that gets absorbed into the terracotta, it should get quite warm. Don't know how well it radiates it though.

Sort-of related factoid. I read somewhere that lightbulbs give off more heat energy that light. Is it just me who finds that interesting? Hello? Guys? Dolls? (echoes)

that is an interesting factoid, and the cloke who came up with the "kadle heeter" (and who needs a slap for that name) has also made a halogen bulb version too.
