Hallo from Wiltshire UK

Post: # 169715Post eDNAH »

Got Icelandic sheep (fleece, meat and hopefully milk) and Icelandic horses (definitely for lots of fun), 3 goats (last of a mob - gone on to sheep), chickens (ex battery and a young cockerel called Frank hatched at a local school who came to us to be topped when he got too big), veg patch which I'm losing to weeds and builders in the house! So have lots of spare time (he he).

Welcome to ISH :flower:

Spare time good, builders bad! Well, as far as the garden goes in my experience. They do tend to just dump stuff & flatten plants. :pale:

The sheep milk interests me; can you make butter & cheese from it?

Not sure how it will turn out! Once I get started, next year, I will start a topic on it. Not sure yet if I have 'milky' ewes - some breed lines are better than others. You're off to Ireland then, North or South? Loved NI but only ever visited Dublin.

Re-our move: South, in the Roscommon, Galway, Mayo area if at all poss. (Now all our Irish members in those areas are worried!)

Reguarding the ewe's milk, I'll keep my eye on your post, then. T'is summat we've considered as an option.

Hi there and welcome :flower:
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
