Member's homepages we never see

Post: # 16686Post Muddypause »

I've just been wandering through the less frequented corners of the forum, looking at the members list. I was prompted to go there to check out the details of a spammer, before I deleted his post. Whilst I was there, I thought I'd see how many members had obviously dodgy www addresses. We seem to have had an influx of them over the past few days, many of them even being cheeky enough to claim selfsufficientish.tv, .org, and .com are their homepages.

But whilst I was there, I also had a look at some of the more promising websites of people who have registered, but we have never heard from (amazing to find there are 7 pages of people who have registered but never posted. Over 200). So in the spirit of the internet, I thought I'd give them a bit more exposure.

Some good finds there, Stew. I particularly liked Craft Green Poet (various interesting arty stuff, including poetry) and Downsizer.net, which seems a similar community to what we have here (and links back to us).

I actually changed alot of those spammers to selfsufficientish.tv stew. I get so fed up with deleting them all the time that I just changed all the passwords and websites to their accounts.

I think that the Nail one is to do with a mate of mine in Nottingham who is a member. Yep I am a member of downsizer and we do trade links.

Aha! That makes sense. I thought it must be some way of slipping through a spam filter, or something.
