We've finally dropped out...

of the rat race. Well sort of.

My other half left the Ambulance Service on Friday. (NHS is closing down. LOL)

And he's become a self employed landscape gardener and fencer. He has two fab jobs to keep him busy until June. Yeah, they are massive projects!

This is GOOD.

What is BAD is....my garden is going to be ignored. You know the old saying..a gardeners garden.

The other good thing is...he comes home for lunch. No more 12 hour shifts for this boy. How good is that?

Now life can begin. Becoming self employed was the best decision I ever made - even though I've never been poorer.

I am self employed too, work when I like (just as well, cos with kids you need flexibility) and I'm very happy to do that!

Enjoy your new found freedom! Being self employed is what made it possible for us to move without worrying about employment (OH is a builder) the plus side to it is that he can choose his jobs/hours and the downside is all the flippin paperwork! (And who gets that job then????) Have fun!

Well done, and keep the receipts... for everything! I once claimed a two weeks trip to Java as a business expense because I wrote the outline for a novel about the place, even though that was as far as I ever got!

Good to hear, I considered the ambulance service at one stage but don't think I could have put up with the wear and tear. I hope it works out well for both of you!

I keep receipts for everything and I only make stationery! Well, I need fuel to get to town for paper, card etc don't I? I have made a new website too as I am now working on my own, introducing recycled card wedding invites. So it's all go in this household.

Jools is booked until end of June, so far which I am pleased about. With a possible job in July and another one for August.

I guess I am going to be a garden widow.

I am just off out to snaffle a load of top soil from a a neighbours skip for my raised beds.
