Help our 7 yr old son has just pushed his bmx back home as the chain has fallen off, I've managed to get it back on the cogs, but now the chain appears somewhat loose, so what do I do next?
Come on help me look like a fantastic mum and get the little guy back on the road tomorrow!

Calling all push bike experts
the ever growing luvpie household currently contains, 4 boys, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, an empty tropical fish tank waiting new arrivals, now are we daft to look at our broody hen thinking, if we got some fertilised eggs........

You should only have to move the back wheel back a bit. Loosen the nut 'n' bolt slightly and pull it backwards then tighten up.

It's possible the back wheel has moved a bit, in which case you may have leeway to reposition it. Make sure it is done up tight though. Alternatively, the chain may have got stretched, which could require a replacement - they don't last forever.
It may also be helpful to clean and oil the chain. When I got a bike again (last December, after many years of not having one) it kept slipping out of gear. However, since applying some of the lubricant I bought, that problem has gone away. Keep moving parts well oiled and you extend their efficiency and lifespan.
