Hello everyone,

It's wonderful to be back. This is QuakerBear here. Unfortunately I no longer have access to my old email so I've had to sign on as a newbie, hence 'QB comes back'. 'Tis lovely to see old names still here and I'm looking forward to meeting new people.

:hugish:

Hello again! Lovely to see you back! What have you been up to?
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

QB
That shouldn't affect you logging on as your old username - you just go into your profile and change your old email address to your new email address! Wouldn't you rather do that and continue being Quaker Bear?

Also welcome back!

Hello Everyone,

It's lovely to hear from you all. I'm going to try logging in as the old me then.

It has been a busy year. I changed job for one, I've given up being in the business world and now work for an organisation that's making a really positive and productive difference in the world.

I joined my political party, got involved, got disillusioned and wandered off.

I've been composting like mad as our allotment is now much bigger then before so we've been growing more and hence preserving more and making more waste for composting.

I've also been learning lots of new skills. I've been learning about differnent aspects of small holding from alpaca shearing to fence building and tick removal :? I've also been learning about keeping chickens which is great though we've not got our own yet. I love the way they get so excited when they've laid an egg but I can't help thinking it's not a good strategy for a bird that's predated on to have! I've also been learning falconry which was amazing, I've fallen in love with some of the birds I learnt with and if I ever have the space I'd love to start hunting with them.

What else, hhmm...

Oh, attended the last Royal Show, very sad. There was talk of there being a series of new shows to replace it such as rare breads shows or prime stock shows. The other show we heard suggested was a small holding show. Each year there was a tent at the Royal dedicated to small-holding but it would be great it they could expand that. I just hope they'd have enough to put in it. Any ideas?

Mr. QB and I have been in training, we're planning to do the Great London Swim next year. Mr. QB has been busing improving his timing and I've been learning to swim rather then just float on the top occasionly propelling myself while chatting to a friend.

I'm sure there's more but I'll post more when I remember.

Again, it's sooo good to hear from and see friends again. Lots of love to you all :hugish:
