Well after the weekend, my son opens his offices and as office manager i want to impliment recycling policies, i need recycling boxes for paper, cans, plastic, glass and green waste, plus other waste(ink cartridges ect) i have seen in other offices over the years, ordinary boxes that get get picked up free of charge, i have searched all over the net but they are so expensive to buy or set up, so to save money i had thought of making them myself and once a week taking them to the recycling station.
so if anyone knows of any freebies i can get or assistance from anywhere i would be most gratefull,
thanks a million
Russ

You need to check out your local councils commercial waste disposal scheme or you may be fined for disposing of commercial waste improperly

Re: some advice please
Can you just use ordinary cardboard boxes to start off with? Line with a black sack for cans. Alternatively try freecycling old dustbins.
Remember to keep a box for stuff to go to the Scrapstore.

I can only agree to that - at my previous place of work, one colleague who took the empty bottles to the local recycling place got severely told off because he was disposing of "commercial waste"Milims wrote:You need to check out your local councils commercial waste disposal scheme or you may be fined for disposing of commercial waste improperly

I sometimes wonder - do they want us to recycle or don't they!

Re: some advice please
I think the point is that domestic council tax includes an element for waste disposal. Business rates don't, businesses are supposed to pay separately to have their waste taken away. Where do you draw the line though? If I buy a can of drink at the supermarket (heaven forbid), take it to work, drink it and then throw it away there it becomes business waste. If I bring it home and put it in my domestic recycling box it becomes domestic waste. If I buy it from a vending machine at the office and bring it home, is that business or domestic waste????ina wrote:I sometimes wonder - do they want us to recycle or don't they!
