overnight apples

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

overnight apples

Post: # 162057Post Loobyloo »

I'm quickly beginning to love my rayburn! I've just discovered that if I finely slice an apple, spread it out on a baking sheet and leave it in the low oven overnight I get perfect dried apple bits to add to my home made granola!

Now.... what else can I dry..............(starts opening cupboards at random!)

Mmmm... The versatility of this type of cooker! Wonderful.
My grandmother used to do this with dry bread. Made wonderful
sort of crackers. We loved them with lots of butter!!!!

So, what are you planning to try next?

I used to have an Aga and I really miss it. When I do have
one (or a Rayburn) again I will have a go at your idea for apples.

That sounds great! Loobyloo you need to update your location as I've been getting a bit confused seeing Surrey there - so I checked back and yup you did say Somerset, so I've stopped  now!
