Newbie from Denmark

Post: # 160180Post Didde »

Hello all,

I just wanted to say a quick "Hello" and shortly introduce my self :)

Im 25 yrs old, female and living in an apartment near Copenhagen (Capital of Denmark, for those who does not know) with my husband and our 3 little rats. We are looking for a house so we can get started on self sufficiency, a small balcony is not enough for us ;)

I was introduced to the lovely world of self sufficiency when I traveled in England, 2 years ago. I went to "The works" and found "The new book to self suffiecency" by John Seymour, and I was hooked emidiatly!
I have always loved preserving food and making something from nothing, and this book revealed so many new things I could try.

The way I found this forum was actually a search on Facebook: Self Sufficiency :)
I cant wait to explore this place!

Hehe, no they are actually rats or fancy rats :) We are not allowed to have cats or dogs, so rats were the closest thing :)

Hiya Didde, welcome to the world of Ish!

Hey, I'm just wondering - are you the first from Denmark on here? :?

I've been to Denmark twice, only very briefly each time, but I loved it... Especially the way everybody finds it perfectly normal to cycle everywhere!

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I dont know yet, I dont know how to search by Country, it could be fun though, but I dont think there are so many Danes, at least young ones, who has this interest/lifestyle, but you'll never know... I would like to be surprised!

Yes we are a biking country, well at least in the Copenhagen area, the traffic is so dense in the city that you overhaul the cars by bike :)
But I guess its more easy than most countries, Denmark is very flat :)
