Making Hair Gel
I wanted to give making hairgel a go. All the recipes I've found have flax seed but I can't find a (sensible) supply. Does anyone know an internet site or alternatively does anyone have a recipe not using flax!

Dont know about the UK, but here in nz we can buy linseed (flaxseed) in bulk at the supermarket. you will also find it at pet food stores and healthfood shops.
Grind it and boil it IN A BAG. there is no way known to man to sepparate the gell from the ground seed if you cook it together. A fine gauzy bag means you can squeeze the gel out and leave the seed behind.

Re: Making Hair Gel
ooo handy thanks both.
Got to say I have looked in the shops but sadly supermarkets in the UK are run by the tescomarketing raquet- ie if they don't thnk ou should buy it it won't be for sale anywhere within 50 miles....but if I do end up finding some now I know what to do...and meanwhile I have a backup!
Such a useful bunch ishers
