Made me smile. Imagine being out-cycled by an 80-year-old.

Yay for the granny! Do you think she hit him with her handbag?
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

You don't tend to carry a handbag on a bike...

Maybe she used the pump?

She had her handbag in her bike basket when someone rode past and swiped it. That's why she chased him and got it back.

Ah - sorry, should have read it properly first... I've always thought these baskets were a bit daft. There was a woman in Germany who transported her small poodle in it; I think it's actually quite dangerous to use it for live animal transport - could you guarantee that it won't jump out at an inopportune moment?

I think it was actually the car driver that retrieved it, but hey its a brilliant story...
well in a coupla weeks someone on my bike would have a number of rather nasty implements to choose from... tent pegs, alcohol burners... :angry4: :whdat: :violent3:
As I ping from tree to tree I wonder... why do I seem to have transformed into a pinging tree-dwelling thing?
