Plants that liked to be used as a toilet !

Post: # 151990Post Greengrass »

When we need to go for a wee in our garden we (men) just go at the bottom in the corner. Is there a plant that does not mind being weed on and has a nice aroma ? It is also partially shaded !
THANK YOU for your help & advice.

Wee on the compost heap, it helps it breakdown quicker.

Otherwise, we wee on the young fruit trees to try to encourage vigorous growth - they have been in for 1 year now and are sturdy as anything.

Wee is high in nitrogen so encourages leafy growth in plants.

We actually keep an unused nappy pail in the bathroom and wee in that so it can be used in the garden... it's useful stuff is wee.

We've a grape vine, a mandarin and a lemon outside the front door - they've been getting the potty poured on them and they seem great this year

I think I read somewhere that men's wee is better than women's for the soil. Don't know whyt. Also that tomatoes like it. Presumably on the ground not the fruit :pale:

I tried using my own wee to repel the foxes, but they wouldn't sit still for long enough.

Ooooh, I've only just stumbled upon this wee thread. Very interesting - I hate to see any water go to waste! I have a 2 year old who has been weeing in the corner of the garden (I got fed up with lugging the potty from our upstairs flat out to the garden, so decided to just let her go au naturale...) - the patch of grass she has been weeing on is long and lush and deep green, compared to the rest of the lawn which is looking a bit k*ackered. Going to start moving her around to different parts of the lawn each time  Sadly, I can't get away with this trick myself, being a fully grown female in a slightly overlooked garden, complete with enormous pregnancy bump that makes me none-too-maneuvrable.

Would wee be good for my sweetcorn? It's my first year of growing it and I have read that it likes plenty of nitrogen, so could I collect up Junior's offerings and chuck it on the corn??? We haven't had our chickens long enough for the compost to be nicely rotted yet, so the child could offer a good alternative

I am completely incapable of peeing out-doors. I can't even pee indoors if there's no paper... or if I can hear someone talking.

I read somewhere that you should have a straw bail in the garden for the men to pee on and it turns into some nice compost.

Can't remember where I read that though

I'd love to wee in the garden but we are overlooked on both sides, so it's not very practical.

I struggled in Russia with the row of holes next to each other toilet with no partitions or door in between. But the old ladies would just get on with it & have a good gossip!

Mind you, I have a couple of old chamber pots, maybe my oH could collect his wee to help the onions grow. Now, if it was likely to kill moss, that would be handy..
