Finding things
Ok so with the massive over haul of my garden I decided to clear out most of the beds which did jinda get infested with weeds with the appalling weather of last year compared with my availability, anyway it seems that not everything I have found has been a weed I have unearthed garlic, horseradish & runner beans all of which I have replanted which is especially lucky for the beans as the ones I planted got eaten by voles

I read that as "eaten by wolves" at first glance and imagined you have a thrillingly dangerous sounding garden.sleepyowl wrote: the ones I planted got eaten by voles

I found some random sunflowers growing, raspberries which seem to pop up all over the place along with strawberries which seem to self seed and spread (even from cracks in the patio) and endless potato regrowth which seem to spring up year after year no matter how much I dig and pick last years ones out.

OOh be careful that sunflower is where you want it! Our volunteer now takes up about 6 feet of one of our raised beds, shades out anything underneath. I finally had to prune off some lower leaves and side shoots to get my veg some sun! I would have loved for it to be in another part of the yard once it got so huge!! Just found a volunteer tomato in my bush beans yesterday. First year gardening here so no idea where that came from!

@sleepyowl, Your garden sound like ours. Full of forgotten neglected corners.
I remember once, my mum found this odd plant growing in the boarder, looking rather like a tomato. It even had little red tomato like fruit. This was years and year before the internet, so she ate one. Resulting in one very sick mum. Turned out to be a self-seeded potato, the fruit of which are poisonous.

No, you'll be fine. It seems to be just the fruit of the potato that are poisonous. The tubers will be fine. I've read some place you should not let potatoes go green because they then become toxic - not sure how true that is, but I guess it makes sense if the fruit are toxic.eccentric_emma wrote:eep.

@ sleepyowl - Might be wise to avoid the your garden during a full moon. We also have a prowling tiger.

Re: Finding things
potatoes are actually poisonous raw, but you would need to eat a couple of them before feeling ill
