Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
His name's still on the members list along with some of his posts. Perhaps it's just certain posts that have been removed? http://www.selfsufficientish.com/forum/ ... le&u=17001
Looks like he's removing his own posts.

Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
I don't really want to gossip about him but in short we had quite a few complaints about him which turned out to be accurate.
He has gone through and systematically removed many of his own posts; in areas where posts no longer make any sense as a result we have had to delete whole posts sorry about that.

Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
Fair enough. Some of the posts were a bit troll like, some had novel ideas, I guess, some had other peoples ideas.
The pictures of Richmond were nice though...

Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
He'd deleted all those photos so there wasn't much point keeping the thread alive!

Bugger, I missed all the fun again.
I can't say I'll miss him, unlike many others.
I found his politics dubious but couldn't be bothered to read most of his posts due to their length, rather than content

Short attention span, Maggie??
Oh, forum politics - no, I've never been good at those either... I tend to ignore most of the time & avoid... which is a shame, especially when it's on a site like this.
Fair play though - I do think in certain cases, you can be a little too passionate & verbose....

Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
Some of his topics were very interesting and indeed I was intrigued by some of his craft skills but I think he might have not understood what a forum is all about, it felt like he was using the place as a blog

Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
I'm a newbie and haven't posted much but what attracted me to this forum was the humour and the fact that everybody was trying to "do their bit". Experiences were shared and nobody was judged. Recently I have felt that some of the fun had gone from the forum and that I was being lectured to. Can it be fun again, please?

I think that this forum takes on a life of its own a lot of the time, it sometimes has a bit of moment but in general it is a light and happy forum don't worry it will be (is) fun again.lazyspice wrote:I'm a newbie and haven't posted much but what attracted me to this forum was the humour and the fact that everybody was trying to "do their bit". Re: Where's Davy S gone ?
I read a lot of what's on this site and find it all useful and good humoured. I tend to only post only when I feel I something positive to say however, it was rather off putting when I posted a reply to how I had found a book inspiring and he responded by basically calling me selfish.
