Re: Need some advice please
The only thing he has now is the Weetabix in the morning because they can't fuff that one up and he sometimes gets them to bring some fresh orange juice as well when he throat isn't sore from the being sick the other night and the stupidly hot dry air!
Every days seems to be filled with either a meal that should be the likes of Goulash which looks like vomit on a plate or some kind of fat filled soggy pastry item with mashed potato.
Seriously, I don't think I have seen a vegetable on any of the plates they have handed out in the week he's been there!!
They do do salad but even that is served with some kind of processed spam / luncheon type meat which looks greasy and inedible!
He's feeling really miserable this morning as well because the wailing, violent, nurse punching @sshole in the side ward kept him awake from 10pm last night until this morning. I actually called the ward sister and will be speaking to PALS about it. I know the man is poorly but for gods sake, do they WANT to make people sign themselves out because that is what is going to happen if this carries on.
I've never, ever seen such a Fred Carnoes in all my life and I am madder than hell about it!

Re: Need some advice please
This might have been suggested before, but could you photograph these meals and make some kind of photo-diary/blog of these hideous food experiences?
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

Re: Need some advice please
Hamster - Yeah I keep trying but there's always someone hanging about
Rosulenda - Aww thanks, I had a rough night last night, I wasn't too well myself so I'm feeling at about an inch from rock bottom at the moment to be honest but trying to amuse myself with Classical FM and just getting on with stuff I need to do.
I think when Pat comes home we're both going to need a week to recover!
However, his benefits appeal should be turned over in our favour as these fraudulent, non-existent complaints he definitely didn't have shame on you for even trying to suggest you were sick have actually put him in hospital
so they will have to back pay us a year of benefits so we're going to pay off all the debts incurred while we've been struggling and hope there's enough to sod off on holiday even if it is for just a weekend! I don't think anyone would deny us the fact we really need a holiday after everything that has happened in the last year or so!
*sigh*
I had a huge rant on my Livejournal so I'm feeling better now... well a little better!

Re: Need some advice please
Brilliant news-ish.
The consultant told us today that his lungs are extremely inflamed but there is no scarring that they could see. They will have to put him on really high doses of steroids to bring the inflammation under control and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't leave any scarring BUT he could be home (with oxygen) as soon as the end of this week or Monday providing they don't want to do a lung biopsy.
They still don't know what is causing it as they haven't had all the blood tests back but we should know tomorrow hopefully.
So it's going to be a long old battle back to even semi-good health (it could take up to 2 years for him to get his lung capacity back) but at least it isn't anything sinister which we were both really worried about.
Apart from the fact we both feel about an inch from rock bottom and about 350 at least we can stop worrying about if he's going to keel over or not because it was touch and go on Wednesday night and I've never been so scared in my life!
Onwards and upwards for us I hope from now on :)

GOOD NEWS: The old git is coming home tomorrow :D
As soon as some oxygen is delivered tomorrow I can go and get him and bring him home... which we are both utterly over the moon about because that hospital is a sh*te hole!
It's going to take a long time to get back to normal but at least he's home!

Re: Need some advice please
Ohhhh yeah lots of cuddles and laughter which I have missed sooooo much.
In the last three years I don't think there has been one single day there hasn't been laughter in this house at some point in the day and I have missed that ALOT this last week and a half!
I've taken a day off today to sort things out and I'm completely exhausted so I'm just trying to look after myself a bit so I don't completely flop into a broken heap
Thankyou soooo much (all of you) for all the kind words and support, I don't think I would have gotten through it all without you!!

I never believed you could miss someone so much! It's been tough, it's taught me to get over some silly fears about being alone in London but I don't want to do it again anytime soon!
I'm going to nip out to the shops and pick up stuff to cook him his favourite meal: Chicken Etouffe and Couscous and maybe something nice for dessert too with lots of cuddles and decent cups of coffee!
I cannot wait to have him home that's for sure!
