My sqaush is bent.
Please can someone help. I put my squash in its pot out side to catch some rays, went out for the day and when I came back the wind had bent the stalk, I've earthed it up to straighten it back up. do you think it'll leave? or has it had it? Is there anything else it can do to help it.

Is it just bent or broken - I don't think bending will harm it as long as it stays in one piece.

Re: My sqaush is bent.
if the stalk has become bent (it should look like a fold in a piece of paper) the plant will not grow as strongly as it would have and it is possible it may not fruit. if the wind has simply dislodged the roots causing it to fall over then it will be fine. its also probubly best to make sure that the plant isnt bent over because its lacking water.

Better than ours. All ours have ended up inside a slug or snail's belly. Fortunately we have a few more sown inside so if they come up OK we will wait a lot longer before putting them out.

Re: My sqaush is bent.
Thanks everyone. It isn't broken but the stalk had bent in a 90 degree angle, not just dislodged. I thought it would be dead by now but its hanging in. I'll nurse it the best I can. I'll let you know if it survives. If anyone knows anything I can do to help it, please let me know.
