Ain't life a Bi=ch
Got me tunnel mid March and waited for hot-spot Tape, which got lost as they forgot to put the department number on the address, so dug the trench's and erected the hoops.
I then finished of my hydroponic, tubes and tubs.
Meanwhile in January I had been to visit my Doc who sent me to see the specialist and he told me "try the ointment, it won't work, but give it two weeks and give me a call" he was right, gave him a call on Tuesday morning, Ok he said can you come in next Tuesday evening I'll operate on Wednesday. "When do I come out" I ask " how long a journey do you have" " 3 hours" I reply "you better stay in two days"
So now, running late with my tunnel, the installation of the hydroponics system, and the planting, and knowing that when get home I will have to take it slowly, for a few days, I hoped that the tape would arrive be for the weekend and started on my planting, so got the tatties in and planted all the pots up. On Friday it arrived, frantic phone calls, as the weather forecast promised wind and rain, and on the promise of wine and nibbles I got my crew together, Rene 82 yrs old John- Louie 79 yrs Me 75 yrs, and the youngfella 72yrs. Sunday came, a beautiful sunny day and a little wind not enough to cause any problems and in two and a bit hours we are sat in the sun, and congratulating, each other on our hard work and telling each other we deserved the 3 bottles of Rene's famous dental cleaning fluid.
On Monday finished off the bits and pieces, and on Tuesday went off to Hospital for the Opp and
found myself put in the care of a young student nurse who with her tutor started to explain to me the intimate details of my problem, and the necessary tasks that she would have to perform which I of course completely confused because after all I'm English aren't I, I won't go into details of the op, suffice to say that you stand around more than sit around if you see what I mean. Any way the op was a success, and I returned home last Thursday.
In the preparation work for the installation work for the hydroponics I had dug out a square meter hole to put in an sump tank and had installed most of it over the weekend, this morning on going in the tunnel to (as I thought) admire my hard work and planning, only to find the hole was full of water and the empty sump tank had floated up and pushed all the staging and pipes over, so as I say,

Glad the op was a success though... and sounds like you had a nice time putting up the tunnel anyway (I don't have any homebrew to celebrate with) but yes, some days can be summed up by nothing better than the words "Oh.... Bu&&er!"

Ditto what Becks and everyone else said (forum seems to be working OK now)
anyway I was actually asking you a bit about the hydroponics and growing your veg like that, cos I don't think anybody else on the forum does that. Have you done it before or is this a new experiment?

I'm afraid I'm not quite as restrained as Ann - I wouldn't be standing there saying bu&&er - I'd be stomping around loudly uttering the F word - at every opportunity!!
Oldfella - I'm glad though that the op seems to have been a success - but take it easy, wont you, we need you to go into quite full details about your hydroponic system.....
Waiting.....

Oh what a pain for you oldfella - but as the others have said, at least the op was a success and so once you are back to full strength you will be able to get the sump etc fixed up good and proper (and enjoy some more wine as reward for your hard work
)

Bon courage Oldfella!
Don't go doing too much work in the garden too quickly, and put back your recovery.
