Container help, please!

Post: # 149365Post gigglybug »

I am hoping to plant my courgettes, squash, and pumkins into containers, could someone tell me if they think 14 ltr buckets would be big enough???

I know that courgettes are OK growing in containers, but what about pumpkins and squash??

Thankyou :flower:

Not going to be much help as i've never grown squashes or pumpkins but as these can grow to be very large veg I would hazzard a guess as no being the answer. However on a recent tv programme it was seen that vertical gardening was ok for squashes etc.
You build a frame similar to that of runner beans and then let the squashes climb up the frame. when the fruit sets you form a hammock type pouch which for ish people would be like a string bag. these are then left hanging until needed so in that case a 14lt bucket would be ok for the plant and to feed and water etc... hope that's of help somewher,lol...
