Earth Hour 8.30pm tonight! (28/3/09)

Post: # 148560Post Annpan »

Just in case some of us missed the details on the other thread thought I would put it here in big capitals so we don't forget.

So at 8.30pm local time, wherever you are in the world SWITCH OFF YOUR LIGHTS.

I think we'll go one step further and switch off the electricity at the mains actually..... hmmmm what can we do for a whole hour with no elecricity

I was a few mins late, but I am now in candle light and I am computing totally offgrid.

I am on a laptop and my router is pluged into my battery bank. I really need to get my windmill sorted after some cheaky so and so poped over and pointed out that they work better when they are not on the kitchen floor and they are meant to be on a pole outside

Turned ours off early because the baby goes to sleep around 8.30 so I needed time to light candles & lamps! The laptop is running on its battery but won't for long!

No lights and the heating isn't on but I do have the laptop plugged in. I am halfway there.

We've just got the computer on, oh and a nightlight in the oldest boys room, it was that or them never going to bed.

I've already discovered the joys of being the only female in the house, when it's pitch black in the bathroom you can't tell till it's too late that at least one of the boys didn't lift the toilet seat when they last used it :( , very cold, very wet, very much in big trouble in the morning :angryfire:

I had planned a nice romantic evening, but was running late and can't find a lighter anywhere so have a bay window full of unlit candles

the ever growing luvpie household currently contains, 4 boys, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, an empty tropical fish tank waiting new arrivals, now are we daft to look at our broody hen thinking, if we got some fertilised eggs........
