Woohoo my trees arrived :)
I am sooooo excited
my OH sent for a set of five trees for me :) They are all on dwarf rootstock so shouldn't be a problem I hope in my smallish garden. There is a Bramley cooker :) a braeburn apple , a Stella Cherry, a Conference pear and a Victoria plum . I have got the cherry and the plum in situ now ( please let them be ok ) NOw we were told that theese can be container grown so I am hoping to put the others in large containers cloes to the shed. The garden faces SSE so please tell me my new plants will be ok , pretty please :) I have also got a new mini greenhouse and I plan ot plant spuds and onions too. Oh I really am excited :) Thanks for listening and PLEASE give me nay tips you can, I really will be appreciative :)

Re: Woohoo my trees arrived :)
If you have the space to plant them in the ground I would highly recommend you do that.
Apple trees will grow in pots but ....
You only have to forget to water them once and they will die.
In a smallish pot in summer they will need watering at least once a day, every day.
The Bramley even on a dwarfing rootstock is still a vigorous tree and would perform a lot better in the ground.
And, you will get bigger fruit and more of them when they are planted in the ground.
If you don't have the room for a conventional orchard why not edge your veg garden with them and train them as espaliers or step-overs, they take up very little space. See here for and example ... http://lodgefarmplants.com/Step%20over%20Apple.htm
What ever you choose, good luck and I guarantee you will enjoy your greenhouse too

Odsox thank you so much for your advice . I have got two in the ground and the others at the moment are in enormous pots, they recommended 30 litre pots, I have them in double that size, but I shall try find space for them in the ground, the espalier looks interesting too :) I have mixed fish, blood and bone inwith the soil, is there any other way to help them ?
