Amazon research station

Post: # 146097Post AmazonDetours »

Hello,

My name is Rusty and I am new to self sufficiency. What sparked my interest is that I have a service that delivers malaria nets to babies living in the Amazon. I own 15 acres along the Amazon and I am building a home there off the grid (of course). It will be our home base to deliver nets , do scientific research, and give tours.

I want to learn how to make it 100% sufficient. I need to run a water pump, a few lights, and whatever possible to make being there as comfortable as possible.

Any ideas, recommendations, or information are welcomed,

Thanks
Rusty

Oooo, tropical ishiness!!! Wow! Given the number of trees in that area that produce year-round, I'd say you could live quite comfortably on a well-planted single acre, and you've got 15!

Ok, I'll stop drooling now.
