Re: Lunar planting
That's it - at its simplest. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it. I'm not bothered about all the complications, just the idea that the moon draws up or not depending on its cycle. You know what it does to tides so it must have some truth in it.

Yes ... the only problem with this line of thought is that the spring tides occur at both new moon and full moon.Green Aura wrote:You know what it does to tides so it must have some truth in it.
So the moons least tidal effect is at first and last quarter.
Confused now ?

Yep! Rereading my post I see that I mightn't have gotten the perfectness of it across ;-) Though my veggie sensibilities might have something to say about the animal parts involved...lsm1066 wrote:Sounds perfect thenocailleagh wrote:I'd be quite interested to try something along biodynamic lines too. I don't know that much about it, but it seems kinda witchy to me :-)
Hmmm...not knowing much about the specifics of it, I could be wrong here, but since the part we usually eat grows below ground, I'd go for a new moon planting for onions...Although, onions are ruled by the moon, so that might complicate things a little maybe? Heh...less than helpful, I know. Sorry :-psnapdragon wrote:I need some organisation in my life - and this seems like a good plan (plus witchy is always good)
Now as onions are swollen stem and neither fish nor fowl (not root, not seed, not leaf) I wonder when I should plant the sets that are the results of last years seed sowing.
Harm None!
Re: Lunar planting
According to what I've read so far (which is not much at all but I'm only just getting going) onions come under roots.
Thanks everyone. This is really helpful!
