Good grief and you've lost 20 years as well! Well done to you.

The only thing that surprises me is that I don't think you looked as much as 18 stone in the 'original' photos - were those photos taken before the op?
My 'original' pix were the ones of me in a brown top, grey trousers, but I was about 16stone then.... the one of me & leah - very windy, me in a blue top, were actually me the week before the op..... me in the pink t-shirt were at 6 months in.... and the others are today
Like I said, I hate having the camera around, so would always dodge the pix... I'd make sure I was the other side of the lens

I have a friend who is about 22 stone; she lost 5 stone through weight watchers but got so depressed because she said her skin had lost its elasticity; she reckoned she looked and felt worse about herself than before so put all the weight back on.
Do you mind me asking how you got around that? I mean, you look FAB! Are there any words of wisdom for her? She is in her mid thirties, so I would think that time is on her side, right? Or are people's skins really that different?
CONGRATULATIONS; I hope you are really, really proud of yourself

Now, this is a time thing.... although I must admit that I expected a whole lot more sag than I've got at the moment!
Mind you, I need to wear a sports bra (think basset hound ears

) but when I was discussing the whole thing with the doc, he advised that firstly, I wait 18 months before I take my 'final' weight... and then after that if I think I need any further surgery (which at the minute, I wouldn't - bit stoopid & incredibly vain at my age) then you should wait at least a year for the skin to do it's natural work. After that year, anything that still 'hangs' will never go back to it's original position & you make the decision from there.
As a general thumb, I've always understood that for each stone in weight that you lose, your body needs approx 2 months to adjust - so if someone loses 5 stone, then they should wait a good 10 months before deciding whether they need constructive surgery.
A friend of mine had just about the full works - she had a boob job, a full tummy tuck, a bum lift, liposuction & her upper arms done - she also had a face lift & a nose job too..... cost her an absolute fortune! But then, she was only 26 & looked absoluelty beautiful after... apart from the arm surgery, which left her with horrendous scars, she didn't regret one moment of it.
Anyway, thank you for all your messages - ooohhh, I will take a few more pix in another 6 months - ha!
