Hi from Shetland

Post: # 144134Post Ovalina »

Hello :salute: I might know a few people on here from previous forums. Thought I'd join up as this place looks really interesting................

I'm a crofter and crafter in Shetland, have a little bit of land, keep a cow, sheep, geese, ducks, and chickens, sometimes weaners. We try and grow lots of veg both in a polytunnel and outside. The weather is harsh, especially at this time of year, just to give you an idea - all the garlic I planted in November is only just starting to peep through.

It sounds idyllic but as my husband is in full-time employment and my kids have just left home and we are so remote, it can get very lonely in the winter-time :( The summers are nice though!

Anyway look forward to making some new friends :thumbright:

Hi - a long lost cousin of my Dad researched the family tree and it turns out we originated in Shetland and I still have relatives living there. The family are crofters in Ollaberry - anywhere near you?
