Thanks for the warm welcome. I have a home in the blue ridge mountains. Its in north east georgia USA. I found this fourm and like it a lot. I like that there are folks from all around the world thinking alike. Seems like the USA is a little behind the times when it comes to solar and wind power, etc. Maybe i will pick up some cheap tricks. SeeYa, Randy

I think it all depends on which bit of the states, there are some great technologies being developed at the moment. I was looking at Backhome magazine, (an American magazine) the other day and that even had an article on a DIY wind turbine.
