Hello from the north west!

Post: # 139728Post geigercounter120 »

Hi all,

I'm Chris from Liverpool, UK

I live in a city centre flat and hence have no real self-sufficiency as yet!

We do have a few small window boxes in which we grow chilli peppers, herbs and last year failed spectacularly in growing tomatoes. we do however make our own bread!

i stumbled across this site completely by accident but i'm glad i did: i love collecting wild food occasionally gathering nettles, blackberries and the occasional puff-ball mushroom

Anyhow, hello all!

Hi all and thanks for the kind hellos&welcomes!

the puffball i tried had a very strong mushroom taste (strange that, isn't it? ), but if you're going to try them, make sure you spend time to pick out the bugs... earwigs and woodlice seem to love them, particularly the big ones! (I suppose if you're thus inclined, you could count it as free protein....)
