They're brilliant! Must have a go now, & I can tailor the giftie to the person, much better than the usual rubbish.

Thanks.

Those are really nice! I think I'll try a few myself although I'm not sure I can come up with the snaps. I bought a box of 12 posh crackers in a charity shop early this year (I suspect they were hugely expensive but they cost me two pounds). You can assemble them yourself, complete with snap (lots included) etc and the outer bit is a lovely wine or dark green velvet solid casing. They are completely re-usable, you just assemble them again with new snaps. Unfortunately we are stuck in France for Xmas and they are in their box under the spare bed back in the UK.... It happens with everything we suddenly need, always in the wrong place.

When I was little my Dad's mother used to spend hours taking "ordinary" crackers apart and re-assembling them with appropriate little gifts inside. It must have saved a fortune as she could buy the cheapest ones available and add her own bits. Only the kids got presents so this was her way of making sure any adults there for Xmas Day got a little gift too. We couldn't work out for years how the cracker manufacturers knew Dad liked cigars or what Mom's favourite perfume was...
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

Hee hee it's funny when you put personalized gifts in them the looks on peoples faces as they try to work out how 'they' knew

Sorry a bit late on this thread but does anyone know a cheap place to buy the snaps?I made my own crackers, very last minute, couldn't find snaps so we did "the good life" and said bang!!but next year would prefer the proper things.
