Bobble hat help??

Post: # 134428Post JulieSherris »

Hi all... I need help, quick!

Granddaughter wants a bobble hat - more than that, she wants me & her to have matching bobble hats, so we can be 'twins'... go figure!

Now, I have patterns for fairisle, cable, aran, baby patterns, grown up jumpers, cartoon patterns, even a couple of coat patterns - I have beret pattern, pixie hat patterns, gloves, socks, you name it......

Have I got a pattern for a simple bobble hat?? Nope!
I am a great knitter, but without a pattern, I can knit a scarf - thassit!

Anyone got a pattern that can be adjusted for size for a plain pull on hat that I can make a huge pom-pom for the top?
She informs me on the phone this morning that she has posted her Santy letter - she's asked for the regulation toys.... and 2 bobble hats - 1 for me & 1 for her....

I need to get these made for next week now, so if anyone has a pattern can you give me a shout?

I'd be ever so grateful!
Julie

personally I@d say knit a large rectangle, about 30-40 st cast on depending on the size of head, then do as many rows as it takes to go around your head... cast off, sew a seam between cast on and cast off rows and then gather one end. add bobble... there'll be no interesting patterns, shapes or ribbing, but they'll be quick and easy...
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

I made one that was 120 stitches cast on, then do 60 rows of 2x2 rib. Decrease over the next 5 rows. Cast off and pull thread through the live stitches. Then sew along the side.

Makes a basic ribbed beanie and its quite comfy!

Thank you, thank you!

I shall try both - Leah informs me that she wants one of each colour....... and whatever SHE wears, I have to wear too.... Guess I'll be getting busy with the needles then!
