Re: recycled paper gift bows, perfect for Christmas
How pretty and they look so easy. I shall have a go in a minute.
I always save the bows and ribbon from crackers. It gets slightly embarrasing though. I was at a friend's house last weekend and she automatically pulled all the bows off and handed them to me
Then I was at a business lunch with my boss, some other colleagues and our biggest supplier. They had these really posh crackers with lovely bows. I was desparately trying to get them all before they were cleared away without anybody noticing. Needless to say they did notice and they were all pulling the bows off and handing them to me.
Cheers

Re: recycled paper gift bows, perfect for Christmas
We were at my works do the other night and one of the blokes on our table had an "accident" with the hat from his cracker - so I told him not to worry as I'd make him a tiara from the cracker bows. He didn't think I was serious at first but did say that the end result made him look rather like Emperor Nero! Ok - now I'm off to have alookat the link!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Re: recycled paper gift bows, perfect for Christmas
like I say on my blog, mine are a bit different to the ones on the tutorial, but I still think they look nice :)
if anyone has a go at making the bows, perhaps they could share the photos here, any tips on how to make them look more professional would be good, I think the strips I used weren't 'fat' enough!
I think it's a good idea to save bows from crackers etc as it's such a shame to throw them in the bin after about 2 minutes of looking at them on the table. I dread to think what goes to landfill after Christmas...
