At last... I'm almost finished (Christmas Cards)

Post: # 134133Post StripyPixieSocks »

I've spent two days on these cards (12) stamping, embossing with powders and heat guns, cutting, sticking, wrapping things over etc etc etc and I have still yet to line them so you can write in them and cover the sticky through the acetate.

There are more pics of the finished articles but this is just a taster ofr the blue and Red ones, there are Green too but somehow I forgot to take a photo of them

There's a tutorial coming soon when I've finished writing it up... PHEW!

I love these-the colours are modern and sophisticated and look very classy. I look forward to the tutorial.
I was in the supermarket queue yesterday (no local olive oil producers in West Cumbria!) and got chatting to an old lady of least seventy behind me. She was telling me that she'd just finished hand painting 50 cards. Apparently she does it every year, and gets a lot of pleasure out of it, and this year's theme is robins. She said that a lot of recipients keep them afterwards, and regard them as a present from her - more than 'just' a card.
I got to thinking that that was the sort of old lady I'd like to be, pottering away with my paints throughout the year, enjoying it, and making something which would be appreciated ( well, by then I would only be friends with the sort of people who would appreciate it! New Year's resolution number 11!) and which will ultimately save me money.
I reckon that gives me 21 years to hone my robin-painting skills! :santa:

Thankyou

I love crafting, I'm just glad to have got my inspiration and 'mojo' back after so long!

Ah well just got to line them today then make my Nieces Birthday Card... no rest for the wicked

Oddly enough that's not the card idea I had in mind when I started (all those months ago) so had to cobble something together and my brain woke me up in the middle of the night with those cards fully formed and the instructions ready... I had to write it down before I could go back to sleep... I even craft in my sleep for goodness sakes!

beautiful work

I have to admit to owning rubber stamps, inks, card stock, heat gun, punches, edging shears, embossing powders - and no motivation

Aww thanks

I finally finished lining them all last night so today I got half a tutorial up on my blog... I decided the heat embossing needed a tutorial of it's own but I will be putting the card one up tomorrow with a bit of luck

... no rest for the wicked lol
