Well, officially but we called them by so many other names too they must have had real identity issues! As a pair they were Kitkats, munchkins or monkeys! Dixie was often Niblet, Dixie Chick or Dixon of Cat Green and Stripes was Stripey pants most of the time or just Cat Face.
You and I are cut from the same cloth sister! My dogs all have several unofficial names, as does my daughter!

this post has been such a cool insight into the mental of ish hahaha!!

PBF: thanks honey.

I am so glad to see I'm not the only one with wierd pet names. thought I'd chip in again with my mum's cats. Polly, runt of a litter, has a kink in his spine and as a kitten wouldn't move from my dad's shoulder except to eat, and hence the parrot-y name (he's a boy). Then there's Dennis. Dennis has massive eyebrows and is consequently named after politician Dennis Healey. Both under the surname of Ward. they're my mum's replacement children. she always wanted 6 of us, but her body didn't agree so she stopped after four human babies, finally had the hysterectomy the drs had been advising for 5 years and bought the cats.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

Bulldozer Bodanovich!!! I love it! Whatever sort of pet was it?

Just to sling in a "wanted" notice on this pet related thread.... we are verging on desperate to replace our beautiful Uffy (long story on how he get that name but he was in fact Uffy Mk 11). If anyone knows of a hearing white cat with blue eyes in need of a good home (probably would need to be at least part Oriental for the hearing bit) PLEASE will you pm me? Will come back to the UK at short notice to organise everything if needed...
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

My little sister's cat is called Jeffery - she's a girl! Then at my mum's house, there's Mufasar (Limpy - though he doesn't any more), Pilchard, Puddle (Piddle), and there used to be an Ozrick (after the band, Ozric Tentacles), Rosifer (I misheard 'Lucifer' and it stuck), and there may still be a few more hanging about!

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

There are litterally tears running into my keyboard!!!

Our two greyhounds are recycled racers so came with stupid names that we now use as their middle names.

Dana is our Irish princess, named after Dana is the Goddess of beauty & healing. She came and healed the hole in our hearts left when our Lurcher had to be put down.

Orion is so called because he joined our mad household just as that constellation was starting to announce Autumn's arrival.

My Mother's maiden name was Fox...Dana has killed a fox in our city garden...so maybe not

When we had our the cat passports done at the vets, she looked completely bemused to be calling out

Stupid
Evil Bob and
Purple

to a packed waiting room, she was even more bemused when I stood up and said they were still in the car could she come out and give me a hand with the cage...

I don't know what she was expecting, but looked genuinely relived to see respectively

a black and white British short hair
pure white (so obviously very evil) short hair
and a scabby tabby ( been in yet another fight the day before!)

all shut up together in a dog cage that took 2 people to manhandle out of the land rover.

And the dog is called "Half'a" but this has degenerated into Arthur.

And we now have a cat called Peanut (after the childhood song - found a peanut, it was mouldy, ate it anyway - for those who may remember it)

And a kitten called Stinky Eric.

I had a friend whos cat just kept giving birth - every time they took her to the vets to get 'done' she couldnt be done, because she was pregnant again! They ran out of names and just started calling them anything, like 'Skirting Board' or 'Quarter to Twelve' etc
