It is so very sad. My Grandmother sadly suffered from alzheimer's for around 10 years, she was also 73 when she succumbed to the illness, though, the real person had been dead for many years.

It is nice to hear that this man had been able to live with his family (we were unable to keep my grandmother with us, as she was a danger to herself and the younger children in the family)

Still, so very sad, my thoughts are with the family.

Hi, Ann Pan. Yes, it is all a bit of a disaster really. My grand-dad had the same illness, & to-wards the end, had to be locked in-doors at night,otherwise he would go walk-about,round the estate,in his pyjamas. This whole episode has had quite a big effect on me, so what on earth is Raymonds family going through,right now.
