soph has been on strike this week, refusing to get dressed unless she gets to ewear somthing home made so after days of her wearing summery dresses with thick tights, polo necks and jumpers I let her loose on my winter fabrics box and told her to pick something she wanted making into a dress.

enter some pink velvet curtain material and an old ex-nhs linen cotsheet (jumble, 20p, still has "property of colchester maternity hospital" laundry stamp on the selvedge!!)

I made it toally from scratch; even the pattern.

I also set to making her a tunic shirt (again, home made pattern)

and a blue waffle-style jersey gypsy dress. (skirt part from an online tutorial, bodice own pattern)

I need to go buy some buttons though 'cos I have none which will go with the shirt or the blue dress lol!

not bad for a couple of evening's work.

more pictures are available on www.craftster.org, my name's the same on there lol!

Aww that's so adorable that she wants home-made clothes... she's going to grow up with excellent values and when she becomes a designer and is rich and famous... :D

Lovely clothes you made though too... I can't sew for toffee so I'm always jealous of those who turn out beautiful clothes like that

Oh she looks so sweet! Well done making your own patterns, that's brilliant

I'd be sewing clothes like that for my little one if I didn't think HE'd be embarrassed!

the barnet was not by choice. *someone* (james) fell asleep on the sofa while *someone else* was shopping with her mother and therefore he was in charge of sophie... *someone* didnt realise scissors were in reach...... he woke up to find sophie sitting there with a mullet hairdo saying "i cant cut my fringe".... this was the only way to ride her of the mullet.
