Hi From Sunny Portland

Post: # 131791Post Portland_Jon »

Hi everyone.

I'm Jon from Portland in Dorset, hence the username. Together with my wife Su we run a small holding with 4 goats, 36 laying hens (Ex battery), 4 ducks, 11 meat chickens and 1 turkey. The turkey is for Christmas and was hatched by ourselves along with the ducks and meat chooks. I am a mad inventor type and make all sorts including air rifle silencers, knives from old files, fishing lures from driftwood and cutlery and fishing floats. I am hoping to make my own wind turbine sometime but am having problems finding enough free magnets at the moment. My policy is that everything I make should be from recycled components and cost as little as possible.

I have also done a lot of research into running cars on Hydrogen and might give a homebrew system a go sometime when I can find the materials. Please feel free to give me a shout if you need a hand or just want a chat. Anyone local or visiting is more than welcome to come and see the set up we have here and the workshop.

Cheers

Jon

Thanks for the welcome all. Hedgewitch, have a look at my website if you like Portland, www.portlandbill.co.uk. Loads of pictures and info about the place on there and I'll be doing a smallholding site on there soon.

Thanks again

Jon
