I wouldn't use mail order but as I am in France there are a lot of veggies they don't grow here, thus have to get them from the UK. :([/quote]

Have you tried the mighty Baumaux - http://www.graines-baumaux.fr/?gclid=CP ... tAodo0a0Xw ? They seem to have pretty much everything.

I have looked but their P&P is completely OTT which is not fair considering it is in France! Also not a huge choice of the things we can't buy here i.e. sweetcorn, butternuts, curly kale, PSB etc etc. Everything else I just buy in the shops here.

Good grief they are now selling curly kale and PSB, and even have a selection of parsnips instead of the usual demi longue de Guernesey! They weren't the last time I looked!

No butternuts though, and €7.00 P&P flat charge is way too much for a few packets of seed. :cussing:

And even butternut squash, though they take care to hide them under the counter... http://www.graines-baumaux.fr/catalogue ... =29&page=2

I really would take a look at Nicky's Nurseries in my post above.
I have had veg seeds from them for a couple of years now, no problems with germination, no problems with export orders and a seed order P&P of £1.77 for Europe ... and they have a huge range of veg.

I will bookmark them Odsox, thanks for that. Just salivating at all that choice of chillies!

Jon, you're right! It does get confusing when you have to look at different sections for potirons, potimarrons and courges.

Anyway luckily I bought what I can't get here when I was in England in the summer so I don't need to order anything by mail order for next year!

Yep, I definitely like real seeds. Also have just got my autumn garlic and broad beans from Tamar Organics and they look good - reasonable prices and postage is quite low. I'll see how the beans/garlic get on.

I'm always a bit suspicious of the catalogues with tons of multicoloured pictures in, they look great but lots of hybrids (want to save my seeds not have to buy new ones!) and they just look too perfect! Makes nice armchair gardening in the winter though :flower:
