Boris Johnson in shock announcement!

Post: # 130296Post StripyPixieSocks »

Blimey!

Now when Boris was running for Mayor I thought he was going to be the worst Mayor you could ever want and was really upset when he was elected by perhaps the most inappropriate people thinking it was going to be 'a great laugh'.

However, I have really warmed to ol' Boris lately and just found this on the BBC website:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7708250.stm

He gets the big thumbs up from me on this one... I think Boris has actually made everyones opinions backfire on them. The people who thought he was going to be no good are now having to eat their words (myself included) and the people who thought they'd elect him because it would be a laugh and he would be an easily duped push-over are also having to go back on what they thought...

I'm not saying he's perfect but by the Gods he's having a good go

Good for Boris and London .... I actually like Boris and consider him not to be the buffoon he pretends to be ... :flower:

I have a wonderful elderly friend who would say that Boris was "of a type" and thats a compliment! But I know what she means - and good for him for starting the ball rolling in the capital! :flower:

And that has made all the difference.

Tokyo also has a mayor who is known as a right-wing loud mouth, but who does some good things like regulating air pollution from trucks and promoting some quite imaginative anti-CO2 initiatives. It's just a shame that these people aren't proper Greens across the board.
