reusing

Great fun to use a cardboard box as a spaceship/oilrig/house/garage/table blah blah

Even... cut it up and fold it in a clever way to make a great way to send books etc... OU stuff came in such a thing (commercially bought) - I've saved it to reuse and also to copy.

Also you can make a pinata out of one - I bought one ages ago in a sale intending to use it for my daughter's birthday. It got a bit trashed in the move, but I noticed it is just made from bits of folded cardboard.

I'm going to experiment and will let you know how it goes.
