I can grow!!!
ok we've almost finished clearing the garden of rubbish and glass and weeds and stuff at uni and look what I dug up before we started sweeping! I grew it from seed in about April/March kinda time and it was picked today!

Fantastic!
Well done. Bet you can't wait to get sowing some more
Just on a side note, I once used carrot greens to make a white wine. It came out tasting like the really cheap Lambrini stuff you can get from supermarkets

I was thinking a very small salad? Or possibly a tiny colslaw? Maybe I'll go all-out and roast it!!carolinej wrote:

Re: I can grow!!!
Wel I did have loads of things planted butlost all the sweetcorn when moving house (they were planted in pots and just didn't survive), the peas died before I moved for reasons I have no idea, just whithered away (I did get one mini pod with 2 peas in from it though...)and when I planted the thousands of tomato plants in the garden they thrived, got really big then suddenly turned all brown and died, withugh giving me a single tomato!! As for the peppers...they grew quite nicely and are still a few leaves from a stalk sticking out of the ground... but no peppers!?! I'm a bit confused!!
Maybe I can only grow root vegetables?!?

Re: I can grow!!!
It was a bad year for peppers apparently neither my neighbour or I had much luck......but on another thread on here some have managed to save pepper plants for at least a second year so might pop them in the green house see if they can keep going.
Courgettes are a real ego booster , they just keep on going, only just taken the plants out after our first frost they were still giving a few baby fruits.
And beetroot for pickling...yum
