awwww. she chose the yarn. it does not match her coat in any way shape or form, but she loves it.
"chenile effect polyester craft yarn".... yeah. it's cheap cheap cheap velour lol!!!Graye wrote:Those are great. Is the pink yarn some sort of velour? It looks like it.
your mum's right lol! I tried learning from books over and over again in my early 20s and it was only when i started watching videos on youtube and pausing them to do the stitches that it clicked. since then I've been doing more and more stitches. once you have the basics of chain, slip (sl/slst) doublecrochet (dc, uk version) and treble or triple crochet (tc, again different method for US crochet than UK) it's easier to get the hang of other things like the 1/2tc, dtc and tc groups. the latest stitch I've leanrt from a book is puff stitch. it's a fun one lol!weatherwax wrote:you are so talented, I really wish I could do stuff like that, I am trying to teach myself to crochet, just not managed to get the hang of it yet, my mum reckons it will come all of a sudden and then it is easy (yeah right)
Having said that, are there any books that you could recommend?I tried learning from books over and over again in my early 20s and it was only when i started watching videos on youtube and pausing them to do the stitches that it clicked.
only the craft book I have which is a 1970s "craft encyclopedia" which came from a charity shop. other than that, take a rifle through various books in your library, there are often older ones with really good diagrams.Helsbells wrote:Having said that, are there any books that you could recommend?I tried learning from books over and over again in my early 20s and it was only when i started watching videos on youtube and pausing them to do the stitches that it clicked.
start with this:SarahJane wrote:I have never been much good at crocheting or knitting, do you think it may be because I am left handed?
