Can anyone recommend me...

Post: # 124682Post StripyPixieSocks »

... a reliable place to buy the likes of Essential Oils, Shea Butter, Oils, Beeswax etc from for making soap, lip balm, bath salts etc from please.

Preferably at a rather low price as we are in a bit of a sticky situation at the moment and have almost less than no money but need to make a start on making my own toiletries etc.

Also... does anyone have any information on what I need to sell what I make on e-bay perhaps or other such means? Do I need any certificates, insurance?

Many thanks :flower:

Summer Naturals, I have used them a few times and will definitely use them again. Not the cheapest for everything but across the board I found them cheaper than other places.

Aromantic. Quite cheap and with instructions.

You do need insurance. Try Balens.

You not only need product liability insurance, you also need to have every product you make safety tested, according to EU cosmetics regulations. You can buy some things like soap bases, lip balm bases which have been safety tested and such like from places like the Soap Tub, but you're limited by what they say you can add to remain compliant.

Sorry, I'm just going through all of this as I have my own cosmetics business/shop. It's a bit of a nightmare and soooooooo expensive.

Thanks... might just stick to giving it to friends and family for the while then as expense is something I really don't need right now :)

Helen, who runs it is lovey, and she has a forum with other soapmakers/toiletry makers who are also all lovely and will give you all the advice you need about certification and insurance. Her products are good quality and reasonably priced too.
