hej från sverige!
hello 2 u all!
having grown fruit and veg on tiny plots of land in england, wales and france, i am now giving it a bit more of a try in sweden. got myself 3 acres of land and a large house and a fair bit of scrubland too... (bloomin cheap property is over here!) well now its the end of my first summer, i get the feeling it's going to be hard going from here on...
anyone else around from sweden? be good to hear from you if there is!
all the best to all of you getting your hands dirty wherever you are!

Re: hej från sverige!
thanks for the welcomes!
the soil in sweden, well, it's not as bad as it was in parts of france.. but it's not exactly devon or hereford either if you see what i mean..
outdoor crops: you can grow most things. the summer is sunnier and warmer than most of england. (i'm in the central south so it's maybe not as bad here as it could be?) but the season comes to an pretty abrupt end just about now.
animals: hmm.. i think pigs and chickens and the like should be fine. but cows are housed for many months of the year in very big barns here. that must cost the farmers a lot in feed. so maybe animals soon, but the smaller end of the scale!
(moose do very well here - i have had them in my garden examining my kale!)

Hello!
My boyfriend is half-Swedish, from Skane (can't do funny accenty thing on the 'a' on the internet) in the south and lived in Stockholm for a while. So that's sort of being from around Sweden.

They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?
