Muscovoy Duck

Post: # 121954Post Tom Kirk »

Hello All,

We started off with 2 ducks and 1 drake and they were all happy wondering around with each other. Then 1 duck had a little duckling (our first ducklin we raised - 2 hatched but 1 never made it). After that all the ducks and drake (including the duckling) would wonder around together.

Then our other duck got broody in another barn and about 4 months later 4 ducklins appeared! They have been hatched for about 4 weeks and brought up in a seperate barn that the other ducks and we want them to all live in the same barn! But tonight I decided to give it ago and the drake and Duck (mother of the first ducklin) started pecking the ducklins and there mum! I don't think this is just curiouseness it looks too aggressive!

Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do.

Ohh and the ducks are free frange so they can keep away from each other threw the day!

Thanks
Tom

Separate them-even with just a fence and clip their wings because having had them myself I know how they fly.

We have a divider in the chicken coop because of some aggressive hens that pick on my banties.

Hope that helps
