Me neither. I shall have a garden full of pots next year!!

Does the blight stay in the ground for long du know? What else could catch it?

Aubergines I think. I don't know how long it stays in the ground - my spuds were OK this year though I only grow first and 2nd earlies so they were all lifted by mid July.

Did you ever encounter blight before you moved to France? I suppose because I only ever grew toms and aubergines in pots in a London garden that I never had the prob - in fact I never even heard of blight before I discovered forums in the last 4 years!

I sadly never had the time in the UK to grow my own veg. The blight didnt happen the first nor second year here but the last 2 have been bad. My neighbour has got some stuff that u spray on after the toms have blight - must find out the name of it!

I hadn't had any experience of blight either although we only ever grew tomatoes and courgettes in pots in the UK.

The blue stuff they spray here is bouille bordellaise (sp?) or Bordeaux mixture. Copper sulphate and lime I think. It is used as a preventative as well as a panic measure when blight appears (that'll be me.... :( ).

We sprayed the spuds with that this year but I wouldn't want to do it after tomatoes had formed cos I don't fancy blue tomatoes! I can still see it on the apple tree leaves since spraying this spring even though it says to reapply again after 20mm of rain because it is supposed to get washed off. Maybe the trick of mixing it with skimmed milk keeps it on the leaves for longer. :?

This is something other than bordellaise. I will go and ask her tomorrow for the name she says its very good and for afterwards once you have the blight. Will report back
