Hi! I moved out of England 14 years ago to N.Z and I left behind my wine making equipment and books! So I was doing a serarch for 'scrumpy' when I came upon this site! I am making simple and traditional cider for or medieval re-enactment group's big event at Taupo in January....... Andy: you mentionede 'sugar' in your recipe - how much? Just to get the yeast started? I used to make elderflower champagne (as well as elderberry wine and oakleaf) as well as sloe gin but there aren't any where I live!

Thanks for all the 'welcomes'! I found the recipe ommission later - its 3.6kg of sugar that was missed off the website! My scrumpy is bubbling away nicely now!
