My clever book said that February would be a good time to divide large plants, so I assume it must be ok to plant them again after that, too!

Never having dug up rhubarb before, I was in for a bit of a surprise today: Unless I have found something that I didn't know grew there, those roots are massive
! Like vastly oversized, rather woody carrots! Is that normal? And of course I didn't get the roots out in one piece - will they still grow again?

I split mine last year as it was getting too big for the spot it,s in and I can,t spare it any more space.
I just split it with a spade, cutting off some of the deeper roots since they were quite deep. Doesn,t seem to have done it any harm.
I can,t say mine looked like a carrot, but it sat on the path for about a week waiting for its new owner, and it still grew when she planted it.

I want to wake up in the morning and see green!
