runner beans

Yet again I am asking for help!! Just come back from the plot and am worried about the brown marks on my runner beans. Has anyone else got this? Are they okay to eat? Could it be the wind? Any advice gratefully received!! pbf. :

What kind of marks? I had some blackish/reddish markings along the length of some of my beans, which were perfectly OK.

Sounds like the same thing, hard to describe, just splodges! Eat them last night and am still her to tell the tale!! Looked it up in various books, but no help! Thanks a lot, glad it's not just me! pbf.

Might well be right - my runner beans were planted far too late this year, so I probably won't have any. But I know from former years that they often had wind damage - just blotches, but none the less tasty for that!
