Go to a post of that person you want to send a personal message to, and click on pm.

Yeah, bread is still better in Germany, but it's deteriorating... I saw British style sandwiches there last time - argh! We have a German student staying with us at the moment for a few months work experience - well, he pretty soon learned to make his own bread and rolls, and even makes sourdough bread now. He also astonished my colleagues by going out and picking raspberries, and then making his own jam.

I think Margot meant using the quote function like this. Margot you press on quote (bottom right hand side of the person's posting) and that person's message comes up in a 'reply' screen surrounded by the words

If that's too complicated for the moment just do what you did, that is fine!
