Hi From Hastings

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hi From Hastings

Post: # 117872Post audiolink »

Hi
I have just managed to join after I originally tried at 8 am yesterday. The forum server wasn't sending out confirmation mail to be able to login.
Hopefully now I can take an active part in various discussions on here, as I have been reading a few threads to find what applies to me or what interests me most.
Self suffiency for me is partly non existant coz I am only getting to grips with it now, but I am planning on being more self sufficient in my everyday existence :)

Hi Ina
I notice I have Margo's pic as an avi and I know why. But I originally come from where she has a holiday home now-Fortrose on the Black Isle just north of Inverness. I grew up there watching the dolphins and porpoises at the point long time before the area became world known for dolphin watching.

Lucky you - beautiful area! I've been in Scotland for 11 years now and not seen a dolphin yet...

Been to the Black Isle, though - to visit the brewery!

Hi Ina
Here's a link to the wiki article on Chanonry Point where you can now watch the dolphins-accross from Fort George. Next time you are up north check it out- you will be pleasantly surprised.

What's the beer like? Not been home for years so missing out on the new things up there. There used to be a brewery in Cromarty at one time as well and also a rope factory - they grew the hemp at Castlecraig farm in Easter Ross

Hi marshlander
yes i know how the point scoring works - read it yesterday and i am trying to get away from that woman
Needless to say i left Fortrose long time before she went there-coincedence.........

Good! Well, it's a very subjective thing, taste, but I like it. It was a nice, small brewery with a family atmosphere when we visited - don't know whether they still are that small, I think they've become quite popular.
