That's a very wide tunnel you have there! The doors must be under a lot of strain due to the moveable width of them. You've certainly had to put a lot of extra attention into securing them.
I have a more standard size domestic tunnel with 1 large single door at each end (1 end faces the prevailing wind). Other than the issues of angles when first assembling the tunnel, I have never had a door blown off or through, and I am on a very windy, high, exposed, coastal site.
I would have thought that doors are more vulnerable areas than sides.
First tunnel did have an assembly guide but maybe they've altered it since the last time I looked. Sorry about that.
If anyone is getting confused or panicky while reading through all these polytunnel erection tips, please don't let it put you off.
All long as you get the basic structure right to begin with, you can adapt all the other things to suit your site and needs as you go along.
I love my tunnel and if I can put one up, I'm sure anyone can!

Polytunnel
Hi Alexandra
Don't know if you've sorted out your polytunnel yet but if you're in Scotland have you looked at Highland Polytunnels website?
Their prices look quite good and I'm hoping that, being based in Inverness, they know of the particular problems of growing in the highlands.
I'm hoping to get one from them quite soon - I'll let you know how it goes if you're interested.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions. We went with first tunnels and Simon has started to build it - we haven't put the cover on yet - not sure if the winds have died down yet or not, but I can't wait to start using it. I've tried to put a picture up here, but not sure how to do it - if it doesn't appear can anyone tell me how to add a photograph to a message?

i believe there is info on how to add photos under the "site information heading" in the forum index (2nd from top I think).
Right at the bottom of the index there is a "practice" page so you can practice adding photos links etc.
If you can't find this contact a moderator. Just scan through a couple of threads and you'll find someone!!

Hi. Our newish house came with a PT, and a year on I'm starting to get the hang of it. The only thing I would say is site it well away from where you have bonfires (stray cinders burn holes), and get one with doors! Ours doesn't have them and it's Open All Hours to some of the hungry wildlife round here
